Nintendo Wii Remote

Posted in sidux at 3:49 pm by trash80

I recently brought home a Wii and found the wiimotes very impressive. Nintendo did a very good job on its design and usability. The wiimote is nearly a computer in itself. Read more about the internals here. While chatting on irc with zulu9, I found out that these wiimotes can be used on a computer running GNU/Linux, as well as Windows and Mac’s. A great video demonstrating the abilities of the wiimote can be seen here. Extremely impressive. When I have a few spare moments I may pursue adopting the wiimote to work with sidux (and Debian in general). Zulu9’s post about using the wiimote is here on sidux forums.

[edit, added 4-16] I found some more stuff about the wiimote. This could be great for low income schools, and other projects. Look here.
